Here is the documentation explaining how to manage and bind training data to your assistant.
Data training management
The Data training tab is the central repository where you gather all the information your AI needs to function. This data is stored at the domain level, meaning any source you add here is shared across your entire workspace and can be used by multiple assistants.
From this dashboard, you can view a unified list of all your active materials, categorized by how they were ingested:
Automatic sources
These are active integrations, such as your Shopify product catalog. You can see the total number of items synced (e.g., 17 items), the last sync timestamp, and a toggle to enable “Auto sync” so the data refreshes automatically, for example, when you add a product.
Manual sources
These are static files you have uploaded, such as a Word document (.docx) containing company policies. The interface displays the upload date, the file type, the processing status (e.g., “completed”), and the file size.
You can search through your existing training data using the search bar or use the filtering dropdown to isolate specific types of content.
URL crawling
The URL crawling allows you to use URL target data as data to train your assistant. URL is crawled and transformed into a .JSON file.
Link the data to an assistant
While all data is stored centrally in the Data training tab, you must specifically link that data to an assistant so it knows what information it is allowed to reference. You do this within the Assistants menu, under the Data sources tab.
By default, when you create a new assistant, all available data sources are automatically bound to it, giving the AI full access to your real store data.
Data linking controls
You can see a summary of how many sources are currently linked (e.g., “2 of 2 data sources bound”).
Selective access: The interface separates the sources into “Automatic” and “Manual” categories. You can use the individual toggle switches next to each source (like “Shopify products” or “Uploaded documents”) to turn access on or off.
Bulk actions: If you want to restrict an assistant entirely or start from scratch, you can use the “Unbind all” button to instantly sever its connection to all data sources.
